When you come to Mi Gatita, it’s all about you. You’ll have breakfast when and where you like, plus an early morning coffee or tea tray left at your door with a knock and a soft “Good morning.” Prefer a certain herbal tea? Need a little special attention for your diet? Need hiking books or maps, help planning your day trips? Just let us know.

The old Mexican bell at the entrance is one of the many antique Mexican accents, furniture, textiles, and pottery that you’ll find inside and out.

Walk past the blue gate into the hacienda. Three separate pink stucco buildings are joined by covered brick and tile walkways, open to the air and birds.

The entrance terrace has natural desert flowers and cacti, a feeding station for birds, and sitting area for guests.

The view from here is onto the upper terrace, where quail, desert cottontails, and a few dozen different species of songbirds roll in each morning for a little seed and water.

Besides a sitting area and a swing on the porch, the San Blas room also has a very private little bench under a Mesquite tree on a patio with an ocotillo fence.

At Mi Gatita, you may take a picnic basket breakfast off for birding or hiking, have breakfast brought to your room, dine inside or out, and our weather is so good year-round that you’ll probably always have your choice.

Breakfast outdoors on the hogan patio or inside at the oxen-yoke dining table, with fresh fruit, wholegrain breads, hot entrees, and, perhaps, the best coffee in the West.

……three of the animals who live here with us. All are desert refugees and all are well-behaved. They are available for a walk or a visit, but only at your request.

A rare snowy morning in March and one of our spectacular sunsets during Monsoon in July. Although we are known for our sunny warm days, we do occasionally get a frosting and we have dramatic summer rains. No matter what the weather, our panoramic views give you seven mountain ranges and the whole Tucson Valley.

Soft and warm robes, Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, a coffee/tea/cocoa tray left at your door each morning……fresh flowers, a small basket of fruit and See’s candies……chips and homemade salsa with cold Trader Joe’s juice or a pot of tea when you arrive. Little comforts for the weary traveler……it’s what we do best.
